Portion sizes and pricing swing widely across this group, from a $10 lunch bowl to a multi-course tasting menu at an upscale sushi counter, so checking recent reviews and photos is more useful than the price range alone. In Raleigh, dinner reservations for popular izakaya, hot pot and Korean BBQ spots fill up on Friday and Saturday nights, so booking ahead or arriving at opening is worth it. Many restaurants across North Carolina run daily lunch specials on weekdays that are not listed on the dinner menu, so it is worth asking. Halal, vegetarian and gluten-free options vary a lot by kitchen; call ahead if you have a dietary restriction rather than assuming the menu will note it.

Raleigh is in North Carolina, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Raleigh follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Great food but believe hot food shouldn’t be served straight onto plastic. Atleast use aluminum or proper plates.

We love Mongolian Grill at the Leesville location so we wanted to give this one a try. We walked in and it immediately felt off. No decor and no music which is not something I’m particular about, but this place just felt very bare and cold. The ingredient selection was minimal and they only have steak, beef and turkey. We usually get shrimp or chicken at the other location. There are also no sauces or spices we can put on ourselves, which we love about the other location. Food came out in to-go containers. We were planning on dining in but with the containers, no ambiance, sticky tables, and no drink included, we decided to just take it home. The food was pretty bland. They also give you a TON of rice and weigh the food so I feel a bit scammed there. Don’t plan on coming back here.

Eating at Bali-Hai has been a staple for my family for over 20 years now. It provides one of the most unique cuisines in the area, and you can’t beat the flavor (and all the flavor options)! I love that you can see all the ingredients that go into making your food so you know it’s really fresh. I will admit that the quality of the food can vary each time you go, but when it hits, it hits (and when it doesn’t, it’s nothing a little bit of soy sauce and cayenne pepper can’t fix at home). My family loves to make a bunch to have lots of leftovers to savor over a few days. It’s sad to have seen all the different locations around the triangle close down over the years, but I’m so happy this one is still open, and I hope they’ll keep it open! Wish more people in the area knew how much of a hidden gem this place is!

My family decided to try something different this evening, and choosing your own meal seemed like a fun thing to try. Upon entering the restaurant, we noticed it was clean, the hostess was extremely nice and knowledgeable, and the small and limited ingredient section looked fairly clean as well. This is where anything I have nice to say ends. There is no ambience whatsoever. Not even background music playing. As we awaited our food, we noticed everybody was eating out of takeout containers. I guess the concept of an actual dish is lost on this establishment. We eventually received our food, along with some beautiful plastic utensils, and chopsticks. We all dug in to the most bland and uninspired food I've ever had the misfortune of tasting in my entire life. I ordered mine for a spice level of three, which I was told would be reasonably hot without melting your face. The food was completely bland and flavorless. The fried rice was simply brown with some kind of oily substance. None of the meat nor vegetables absorbed any of the flavor. The sauce did not stick to the food at all. To say we were underwhelmed would be the understatement of the year. I choked it down so that I didn't f

Good for a quick bite and you pay by the pound. Service is ok and the ambiance is a little dreary. You do get to watch the food be cooked kind of like hibachi. The sauces are tasty. I got the combo with the curry added and it was sliced well. One of those places you go back to every once in a while.
